Oparex® Nebula opal is created by mixing silica and resin. It results in a non-directional wave pattern that looks similar to nebula and aurora. The patterns and sizes of the waves are inconsistent, therefore, every piece is unique.
The color might be influenced by the level of the waves. The pictures are for reference only.
All the roughs are in regular size. The size is from around 60mm to 130mm.
Each piece of Nebula Opal has unique pattern. The average thickness ranges from 20-25mm with estimated size 55-70mm.
Large block is available. The size is about 130x65mm with around 50mm thickness. It is suitable for making large object.
Nebula opal is often used for making doublet. The top can be glass, quartz or even resin. The play of colors is emphasized.
Nebula opal is also available in different kinds of design, such as drop, bead, gummy bear, rondelle, cabochon...etc
Besides standard Nebula Opal, Sanwa also supply Thermoforming Nebula Opal. The opal can be bent when the temperature is more than 90 degree Celsius. The bendability is better when the opal is thin or narrow.
Nebula Opal with fluorescence is available in limited colors. The fluorescence appears only when the opal is under UV light.
